The Kennebec Valley
The Kennebec Valley—running from the region’s southern towns of Winthrop and Gardiner to Jackman in the north bordered by Canada—is a place of long-established contrasts. Where plunging mountain waterfalls sit just up the river from towns that have elevated the idea of “small Maine town” to an art form

The Maine Highlands
When legendary painter and native son, Marsden Hartley, first viewed Mount Katahdin, he described it as “exceeding all my expectations so far that I am sort of helpless with words.” From Mount Katahdin, to Maine’s largest lake (Moosehead) there are many exciting and new destinations.
